On Monday evening – May 16th – at approximately 7:16 p.m., Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) police officers responded to West Colfax Avenue on a report of a bicycle theft that just occurred.
While responding to the area, Sgt. Wielgus observed and stopped a large group of teenagers off of Galloping Hill Road just into Union who were all on bicycles. Among the group, a 14-year-old male from Elizabeth – according to police – was found to be in possession of the reported stolen bicycle. He was placed under arrest and charged with receiving stolen property.
The owner of the bicycle was reunited with his property.
The other juveniles were turned over to an adult from the scene without further incident.
