Reported Road Rage Incident Leads To CDS Arrest

On April 7, 2012, at 5 p.m., Patrolman Kevin Florczak reported that he was approached by a motorist who complained that they were the victim of a road rage incident. The victim pointed out a 2000 Hyundai as the suspect vehicle “that tried to run them off the road”.

The Hyundai was stopped on East Westfield Avenue near Chestnut Street.

During the roadside investigation, the 21-year-old female driver from Winfield Park was issued a summons for failure to keep right (39:4-82). The passenger, Marquis N. Cruz-Massey, a 19-year-old resident of Rahway, was found to be in possession of 10 bags of marijuana. Cruz-Massey had a plastic bag containing 10 smaller bags of marijuana hidden in his groin area. He was arrested and processed at RPPD. He was released pending an appearance in Roselle Park Municipal Court.
