Reported Missing Resident Found Through Police Car License Plate Reader

On Tuesday, March 17th, it was reported to Roselle Park Police that an 85-year-old Roselle Park resident went missing following a family dispute. A follow-up investigation was conducted with no findings.

The following day, March 18th, at approximately 8 o’clock in the morning while on patrol, Patrolman Mitchell White received an alert for a missing person on his in-car mobile data terminal/license plate reader after passing a 2006 Ford on West Lincoln Avenue.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Market Street just into Kenilworth, where the 85-year-old missing person was confirmed and subsequently reunited with his family.

He was said to be in good health.
