On August 27, 2011 at approximately 3:23 a.m., Sgt. Theodora Dima was at the intersection of East Westfield Avenue at Linden Road when he observed a dark colored Nissan traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. The vehicle failed to observed the red traffic signal at Linden Road. The Nissan then turned left onto Galloping Hill Road while failing to observe the red left turn signal. A motor vehicle stop resulted in the discovery of two (2) glass pipes and a metal marijuana grinder in possession of the driver, Shanise Rubi, age 34 of Perth Amboy. The passenger, Beenish Yasin, age 29 of Metuchen, was found in possession of a metal grinder, and glass pipe, containing marijuana particles and residue.
Ms. Rubi was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of CDS), 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia), two (2) counts of 39:4-81 (failure to observe signal), and 39:4-50 (driving under the influence). She was released with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of September 1, 2011.
Ms. Yasin was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of CDS) and 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia). She was also released with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of September 1, 2011.
