On July 18, 2011 at 5:52 p.m., a Union County probation officer contacted police headquarters after an investigation he was conducting resulted in the discovery of marijuana at a residence on Chester Avenue.
John G. Butner Jr., age 22 of Roselle Park, was found in possession of a cigar box containing seven (7) medium-sized clear bags containing suspected marijuana residue, one (1) metal grinder containing suspected marijuana residue, one (1) digital scale, three (3) glass smoking pipes containing suspected marijuana residue, one (1) small bag containing a large quantity of suspected marijuana stems, two (2) medium bags containing suspected marijuana, one (1) glass jar containing suspected marijuana, nine (9) small clear bags all containing suspected marijuana, and one (1) large glass water bong.
Mr. Butner was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:25-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana) and 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia). He was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of July 21, 2011.
