Polish/Slavic Day Celebrated In Roselle Park

More than 150 people took part in Roselle Park’s first Polish/Slavic Day celebration at the Casano Community Center yesterday, September 27th.

Those in attendance enjoyed pierogis and were entertained by students from the Polish Supplementary School at the Polish Cultural Foundation in Clark who performed traditional songs and a moving rendition of a traditional waltz.

Polish food was donated by Delicious Fresh Pierogi of Roselle Park. According to Casano Center Director Rupen Shah, Costa’s Restaurant of Roselle Park also supplied party fare. Polish and Slavic Federal Credit Union was the primary sponsor of the event.

The event followed celebrations at the Casano Center of Italian, Colombian, and Peruvian heritage.

Mayor Carl Hokanson said of the events, “Roselle Park is a strong, robust community made up of a mosaic of cultures, and we’re proud of all of them.”
