Police Ask For Help In Identifying Burglary Suspect

On July 18, 2011 at 1:34 a.m., Roselle Park Police responded to the Family Dollar store on East Westfield Avenue on a report of an activated burglar alarm.

A check of the rear door area revealed that the rear door was unsecured. A search of the interior of the building revealed the tin metal ceiling was pushed in and there was a considerable amount of rust and dust on the floor. A search of the building revealed no one was present inside. A check of the roof top revealed two(2) air conditioning units on the roof top had been opened and access was gained through the roof. Union County Sheriff’s K-9 unit was contacted to finish a cursory search of interior of building.

The security cameras recorded observed a Hispanic male wearing a white t- shirt, blue shorts, white socks, and black & white sneakers walking from the rear of the store towards the front on the left hand side of the store. The suspect appeared to leave empty-handed from the rear door which he was able to unlock and walk out of.
