On Tuesday afternoon, Roselle Park Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the Sunrise Village Apartment complex. Responding police officers found the victim struggling with the suspect in a driveway on the 100 block of Jerome Street. The victim, an off-duty New Jersey Department of Corrections officer, found two suspects in his Sunrise Village apartment at approximately 4:30 pm. The off-duty officer had just returned from a trip to the grocery store when he heard footsteps in his apartment. He went to investigate the noise when he was rushed by the two suspects, who struck him before fleeing the residence. The off duty officer identified himself as a law enforcement officer and gave chase. Once outside, one suspect, a 40-45 year old black male ran to a waiting silver Chrysler Town and Country minivan with NJ plates and fled the area. The other suspect ran through the parking lot before he was tackled by the victim. A struggle ensued before a good Samaritan intervened and assisted in apprehending the suspect.
Officers arrived on scene and took Antrell Allen, age 40, of Passaic, NJ into custody. Allen was found in possession of jewelry belonging to another resident of Jerome Street. Officers investigating this burglary canvassed the building and located another apartment had been forcibly entered.
Allen was charged with two counts of burglary, robbery, aggravated assault and resisting arrest. Allen was transported to the Union County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail. Detectives are attempting to identify and locate two additional suspects with the assistance of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Little Ferry Police Department. At 9:20 a.m., Ignacio Ramirez-Camilo, 31, of Elizabeth, was arrested for Contempt of Court during a traffic stop on East Westfield Avenue by Patrolman J. Fitzgerald. Ramirez-Camilo posted bail on a Perth Amboy Municipal Court warrant and was released.
At 12:53 p.m., Stanley Ogedegbe, 21, of Union Township was arrested by Patrolman M. White for possessing marijuana during a traffic stop. White stopped, Ogedegbe’s 2006 Nissan on East Westfield Avenue for traffic violations and located a suspected marijuana-filled cigar in the passenger door. Ogedegbe was charged with possession of marijuana, failure to give CDS to police and contempt of court. He was later released into custody of the Roselle Police Department.
At 11 p.m., Elie M. Princilus, 22, of Roselle, was arrested at RPPD by Patrolman G. Polakoski on a Roselle Park shoplifting warrant. Princilus was charged with shoplifting on December 20, 2012 by Patrolman B. Swick after he was observed stealing several bottles of liquor from a Chestnut Street liquor store, according to police. Princilus was transported to Union County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.

At 11:12 a.m., Barbara Gonzalez, 37, of Elizabeth, was arrested on traffic warrants from the City of Elizabeth. Gonzalez was released after posting bail.
At 12:25 p.m., Jorge L. Colon, 38, of Roselle Park, was arrested after police were called to the area of East Westfield Avenue at Pershing Avenue for a dispute. Colon was charged with harassment and assault and transported to the Union County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail.
Gudino Salas Rodriguez, 40, of Roselle Park, was arrested after police were called to the 400 block of East Westfield Avenue for another dispute. Salas Rodriguez was charged with criminal mischief and released pending an appearance in Roselle Park Municipal Court.

Descia M. White, age 25, of Newark, was arrested by Patrolman Harold Breuninger for outstanding warrants. White was released after posting bail of $500 on Linden City warrant.
At 2:20 p.m., David C. Leal, age 19, of Elizabeth, was arrested by Patrolman White for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Leal was stopped for a traffic violation in his 2001 Nissan. During the stop,White detected the odor of marijuana. After a brief search, he located a container of suspected marijuana, a grinder and additional paraphernalia. Leal was released pending an appearance in Roselle Park Municipal Court.
Joseph M. Ochoa, 28, of Union, was arrested after police responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Street for a dispute in progress involving a weapon. Patrolman Breuninger found Ochoa standing near Warren Avenue involved in an on-going dispute. Ochoa was arrested after he was found to have a Roselle Park Municipal Court warrant. After a search of the area and interviews with witnesses, it was determined that no weapon was involved in the dispute. Ochoa was released after posting $750 bail.
