At approximately 12:25 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 Honda for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Alexis Schwartz, age 21 from Roselle Park, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Schwartz was arrested and charged with possession of CDS and drug paraphernalia. She was issued motor vehicle summonses and released with a court date.
Patrolman Mitchell White conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2014 Honda for an equipment violation at approximately 3:47 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, Sannie Galarza, age 23 from Elizabeth, was arrested for possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Galarza was charged with possession of CDS and drug paraphernalia. She was issued motor vehicle summonses and released with a court date.
At approximately 6:42 p.m. a 20-inch, royal blue Mongoose bicycle was reported stolen from the rear of the Roselle Park High School. The value of the stolen bicycle is approximately $150.
At approximately 11:57 p.m., while conducting a DWI checkpoint, a motor vehicle stop was conducted on a 1997 Nissan for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Joseph Concha, age 20 from Elizabeth, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia as well as a loaded semi-automatic CO2 pellet gun without the orange tip. He was placed under arrest and charged with possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS, possession of a firearm, and drug paraphernalia. He was subsequently lodged in the Union County Jail on $50,000 bail.

At approximately 12:51 a.m. while conducting a DWI checkpoint, a motor vehicle stop was conducted on a 2002 Toyota for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Kevin Cordova, age 23 from Roselle Park, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). Mr. Cordova was charged with possession of CDS and drug paraphernalia. He was issued motor vehicle summonses and released with a court date.

At approximately 3:57 a.m., during a foot patrol, it was discovered that a business on East Westfield Avenue had signs of just being burglarized. It appeared that a cash register containing approximately $100 cash had been taken. The incident is still under investigation.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., two unlocked motor vehicles parked on the 800 block of Prospect Street were reported to be burglarized. In one of the vehicles an OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) code reader – valued at $100 – was reportedly taken and in the other vehicle, two dollars in change and two (2) music compact discs were taken. Witnesses in the area observed two (2) teenage males wearing dark colored shirt and shorts on bicycles in the area during the time of the theft. The incident is under investigation.

At approximately 1:05 p.m., Patrolman James Cantrell conducted a pedestrian stop of a suspicious male on West Webster Avenue. The individual identified as Patrick Roberson, age 24 from Roselle Park, was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Hillside for burglary and theft of a motor vehicle. Subsequent to the arrest, Mr. Roberson was found to be in possession of suspected synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possession of CDS and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Roberson was lodged in the Union County Jail on $7,500 bail.
At approximately 3:07 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2008 Dodge for an equipment violation. During the stop it was discovered that the passenger, Sarai Harper, age 23 from Roselle, was in possession of suspected marijuana. She was placed under arrest and charged with possession of CDS and released with a court date.

At approximately 9:18 p.m. a red Granite Peak mountain bicycle was reported stolen from in front of the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on West Westfield Avenue. While inside the store, the victim reportedly observed a male wearing all black clothes take the bicycle and ride eastbound toward Chestnut Street as the victim gave chase. Minutes later, Patrolman Brian Macdonald located the suspect and bicycle on Chestnut Street near Sumner Avenue. The suspect – identified as Ronald Winborne, age 47 from New York City – was arrested and charged with theft and subsequently lodged in the Union County Jail on $5,000 bail. According to police, he also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Newark for $250.

At approximately 11:06 a.m., Patrolman Anthony Rodriguez conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2004 Infiniti. The driver of the vehicle – Macgyvens Dalcy, age 24 from Union – was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Union Township for $89. He was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of CDS. He was released on his own recognizance (R.O.R.) on the warrant and released with a court date.

At approximately 10:36 a.m., a resident of the 800 block of Locust Street reported a suspicious male who had entered her vehicle that was parked in the driveway. The resident stated she confronted the male who fled the area on foot. The suspect was described as a male with a slim build wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and orange shorts. Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle according to the victim. Approximately an hour later, an individual fitting the description was located by Patrolman Polakoski on the 400 block of Chestnut Street. The individual was identified as Leonard Johnson, age 27 from Union. He was positively identified by the victim, arrested, and charged with criminal trespass. Mr. Johnson was ultimately released with a court date.

At approximately 1:32 a.m., while conducting a property check of the Roselle Park Train Station, Patrolman Angelo Marino discovered a male sleeping inside the locked waiting room. The male – identified as Ryan Sellers, age 38 from Irvington – had to let the officer in the building. It was discovered that Mr. Sellers had active warrants for his arrest out of Newark, Summit, and Union Township. He was placed under arrest and found to be in possession of suspected prescription drugs (Oxycodone). He was charged with possession of CDS and released with a court date.
At approximately 9:43 a.m., a resident of East Westfield Avenue reported his grey and red Mongoose bicycle stolen from the rear yard of the residence. The stolen bicycle is valued at $60.
