Police Activity Report (September 24 – 27, 2015)

September 24, 2015

At approximately 8:54 p.m., Patrolman Brian Macdonald conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2000 Acura for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Bensito Fonvil, age 23 from East Orange was, found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Fonvil was arrested and charged with possession of CDS. He was issued motor vehicle summonses and released with a court date.

September 25, 2015

At approximately 5:25 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2011 Mazda for an equipment violation. According to police, it was discovered that the registered owner was a suspended driver. The driver of the vehicle, Tristan Cook, age 22 from Roselle. was arrested for possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Cook was charged with possession of CDS, drug paraphernalia, and failure to turn over CDS to police. He was issued motor vehicle summonses and released with a court date.

September 28, 2015

At approximately 10:32 a.m. Roselle Park Police responded to East Colfax Avenue on a report of a suspicious male wearing a grey t-shirt, grey jogging pants, and black shoes, who was observed entering the rear yard of a neighboring house. While responding to the location, an individual fitting the description given was located on Trotting Road in Union, just off of Galloping Hill Road. The person of interest was in possession of a maroon Rhino bicycle. The male was positively identified by the witness as the same person in the yard and the bicycle in his possession was discovered to be stolen from the yard he was observed entering. Darius Johnson, age 18 from Union, was placed under arrest and charged with criminal trespassing and receiving stolen property. He was released with a summons with a court date.

At approximately 2:40 p.m., Roselle Park Police responded to Chestnut Street on a report of a two car motor vehicle accident. While investigating the accident, the driver of a 2002 Nissan – identified as Nevennia Johnson, age 23 from Roselle – was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Johnson was placed under arrest and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was issued motor vehicle summonses and released with a court date. The driver of the other vehicle, 43 year old female from Linden was transported to the hospital for a complaint of back pain as a result of the rear end collision.
