At approximately 12:15 a.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 BMW on First Avenue and Floral Street in Roselle for equipment violations. The driver of the vehicle, Paul A. Sanders, age 24 of Roselle was found to be in possession of a suspected Controlled Dangerous Substance and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and charged with possession of CDS (under 50 grams) of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to turn over CDS to police along with motor vehicle equipment violations and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. He was released on a summons with a court date.
At 10:38 p.m., Patrolman Richard Gaylord was investigating complaints regarding campaign sign thefts, at which time an individual was observed removing and damaging a campaign sign from a local residence on the west side of town. According to police, before the officer was able to investigate, the subject ran into a nearby driveway and out of sight of police. A short while later, police officers located the subject, identified as Michael Yakubov, age 31, from Roselle Park near the rear of the Roselle Park High School (RPHS). After an on-scene investigation and follow-up investigation at police headquarters, Mr. Yakubov was charged with Theft and Criminal Mischief. Both charges are considered a Disorderly Persons offense. He was subsequently Released on his own Recognizance (R.O.R.) on a summons with a future municipal court date.

At approximately 2:51 a.m., Patrolman Brian Macdonald conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1999 Ford on East Westfield Avenue and Galloping Hill Road for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Eduardo Perez Jr., age 36 of Elizabeth, was found to be in possession of a suspected Controlled Dangerous Substance. He was placed under arrest and charged with possession of CDS (under 50 grams) of marijuana and failure to turn over CDS to police. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of Elizabeth Municipal Court in the amount of $150. Mr. Perez posted cash bail for the outstanding warrant, was issued summonses, and released with a future court date.

At approximately 12:28 p.m., Roselle Park police responded to the 300 block of Chestnut Street on a report of a stolen Ford F-350 pickup truck. The owner of the vehicle stated that he was doing work in the area, walked away from the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes, and returned to find his vehicle had been stolen. A follow-up investigation was conducted by Detective Robert Harms which led to the arrest of Luis O. Jimenez, age 47, from Roselle Park along with the recovery of the stolen vehicle by Roselle Park Police in Newark on Wednesday, October 29th at approximately 1 p.m.
Mr. Jimenez was charged with theft of a motor vehicle (3rd degree) and bail was set at $10,000 by Roselle Park Municipal Court Judge Gary Bundy. Mr. Jimenez was also found to have numerous outstanding warrants from local municipal courts bail totaling $2,500. He was transported to the Union County Jail pending court.

At approximately 1:05 a.m., Sergeant David Pitts conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2012 Honda on West Westfield Avenue at Chestnut Street for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Tawanna Turner, age 34 of Roselle Park was found to be in possession of a suspected Controlled Dangerous Substance. She was placed under arrest and charged with possession of CDS (under 50 grams) of marijuana. Ms. Turner was issued summonses and released with a future court date.
