At 11:42 p.m., Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) officer Avsar Patel conduct Township,ed motor vehicle stop on a 2006 Honda at the intersection of Sheridan Avenue and East Grant Avenue for several equipment violations. The passenger of the vehicle, Ashley Villela, age 21 of Union was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Villela was arrested and charged with the possession of c.d.s and drug paraphernalia. She was issued a traffic summons for possession of c.d.s in a motor vehicle. Ms. Villela was ultimately released on a summons with a future Roselle Park Municipal court date. The driver of the vehicle was released from the scene with three summons for unclear plates, tinted windows and light out.

At 10:19 a.m., RPPD officer Richard Gaylord conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2001 Nissan on Galloping Hill Road for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Sulaiman Adelekan, age 35 from East Orange, was stopped for speeding and reportedly gave a false name of “Segun Olamide” which was determined to be false. The passenger of the vehicle, Dawn Hernandez, age 43 from Colonia, was found in possession of suspected heroin, a syringe, and other drug paraphernalia. Mr. Adelekan was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension. He was also issued motor vehicle summons for driving while suspended, speeding and uninsured vehicle. Ms. Hernandez was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s and drug paraphernalia. Both were ultimately released on a summons with a future Union County Superior Court date.

At 12:32 a.m., RPPD officer Angelo Marino conducted a traffic stop on a 2002 Chevy along West Westfield Avenue at Seaton Avenue for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Umar A. Muhammad, age 51 from Linden, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Muhammad also had an outstanding warrant. The passenger of the vehicle, Rajeeyah Sessoms, was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Ms. Sessoms was arrested and charged with the possession of a c.d.s. She was released on a summons with a future Roselle Park Municipal Court date. Mr. Muhammad was also arrested and charged with the possession of a c.d.s. He was released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

At 10:35 a.m., RPPD officer Richard Gaylord conducted motor vehicle stop on a 2003 Pontiac along the intersection of Galloping Hill Road and Browning Road for an equipment violation. Upon further investigation it was revealed that the registered owner of the vehicle’s license was suspended. The driver of the vehicle, Carlos Velez, age 24 from Perth Amboy, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Velez was arrested and charged with the possession of c.d.s and drug paraphernalia. He was issued a traffic summons for possession of c.d.s in a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license.

At 09:33 a.m., RPPD officer Jeffrey Smith observed a red motorized bike traveling on Linden Road entering Roselle bearing no visible registration and the driver was not wearing a helmet when Officer Smith conducted a traffic stop on Linden Road. The driver, Willie Rice, age 52 from Roselle, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Rice was arrested and charged with the possession of c.d.s. He was issued several summonses for motor vehicle violations and ultimately released on a summons with a future Roselle Park Municipal Court date.
Later that day, on an unrelated incident, at 10:51p.m., RPPD officer Dean Kallaf conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2016 BMW along Westfield Avenue and Chestnut Street for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle, Schephati Morinvil, age 25 of Union Township, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Ms. Morinvil was arrested and charged with possession c.d.s. She was also issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle and failing to signal. Ms. Morinvil was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

At 1:30 a.m., RPPD officer William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2004 Jeep for an expired inspection sticker. The driver of the vehicle, Markell Benson age 23 from Wildwood, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The passenger of the vehicle, Edward Holloway, age 19 from Bridgeton, was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Benson and Holloway were arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. and drug paraphernalia. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for vehicle violations. They were released on summonses pending Roselle Park Municipal Court dates.
