At approximately 2:41 a.m., Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) Officer Angelo Marino conducted a pedestrian stop on two individuals for jaywalking along Chestnut Street.
One of the males identified as Andre Myrick, age 51 from Newark, was arrested on the strength of warrants out of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office that was issued for theft, shoplifting, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance and Edison, South Plainfield, Piscataway Municipal Courts for traffic offenses. He was additionally found to be in possession of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia during the arrest.
The second male – identified as Mathew S. Demko, age 31 from Farmingdale – was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also placed under arrest.
Mr. Myrick was issued a summons for possession of c.d.s. and drug paraphernalia with a future Union County Superior Court date along with two traffic summonses for jaywalking. He was ultimately turned over to the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office.
Mr. Demko was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia along with two traffic summonses for jaywalking. He was released with a future court date.

At approximately 1:44 a.m., RPPD Officer Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 Chevy for a moving violation along East Westfield Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle, Ava B. Burke, age 25 from East Orange, was placed under arrest on the strength of warrants out of Somerville, Piscataway and East Orange Municipal Courts. During the arrest, Ms. Burke was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was issued a summons for possession of c.d.s. and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Burke was also issued motor vehicle summonses for view obstruction, impeding the flow of traffic, driving while suspended, possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle and open container of alcohol. She was released with a future court date after posting bail on all warrants.

At approximately 12:38 a.m., RPPD Officer Jessica Diaz conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2010 Lexus for an equipment violation along West Westfield Avenue at Grove Street.
The driver of the vehicle, Dashino Charles, age 26 and passengers, Michael B. Thorpe, age 25 and Gavin Flagler, age 26 all from Elizabeth were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana.
They were all placed under arrest and charged with possession of c.d.s. Motor vehicle summonses were also issued. Messrs. Charles and Thorpe were released on a summons with a future court date. Mr. Flagler was additionally discovered to have multiple warrants for his arrest out of Linden, Cranford, Elizabeth, and Roselle Park Municipal Court. He was served a summons and ultimately lodged into the Union County Jail as he was unable to post bail.

At approximately 12:42 a.m., RPPD Officer William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 Toyota for an equipment violation along West Westfield Avenue. The passenger of the vehicle, Tyree D. Scott, age 24 from Newark, was placed under arrest for possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Scott was issued a summons for possession of c.d.s. Motor vehicle summonses were issued to the driver and passenger. He was released with a future court date.
