At approximately 8:23 a.m., a resident contacted the Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) stating that a suspicious male had entered the rear yard of a residence located on the 200 block of West Westfield Avenue. The individual was reportedly not known to the area. Upon arrival, the residence was cleared by police who found the basement doors to be unlocked and wide open. The witness described the actor as a black male wearing a green jacket, black pants, and a black hat. She also stated that he had left the area prior to the police arrival on foot heading east bound on West Westfield Avenue. Roselle Police were advised of the incident also and advised RPPD that they had an individual detained matching the description given. An on scene identification was made by the witness. The actor who was identified as, Almighty D. God-Allah aka Derrick B. Leach, age 50 from Roselle. He was arrested for Trespassing. Following an investigation by Detective Richard Cocca, God-Allah was formally charged with burglary. He was released with a summons with a Union County Superior Court date.

At approximately 1:57 a.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on West Westfield Avenue at Bridge Street on a 1999 Mitsubishi for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Katherine Bell, age 20 from Linden, was found to be suspected of driving while under the influence of a narcotic and arrested for the same. The passenger, Ciara Turner, age 21 from Woodbridge, was found to be in possession of Alprazolam. Ms. Turner was placed under arrest and both were transported to Roselle Park Police Headquarters where they were processed. Ms. Turner was charged with possession of c.d.s. and released on a summons. Ms. Bell was charged with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, unlicensed driver, and no registration or insurance in possession. She was then turned over to a family friend and released with a court date.

At approximately 3:21 a.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a motor vehicle stop on West Westfield Avenue on a 2008 Honda for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Pedro Cisneros-Lara, age 26 from Freehold, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and transported to Roselle Park Police Headquarters where he was processed. Mr. Cisneros-Lara was issued motor vehicle summonses for the stop and served a summons for possession of c.d.s. He was released with a future court date.
At approximately 10:14 a.m., Patrolman Richard Gaylord conducted a motor vehicle stop on West Westfield Avenue on a 2010 Kia for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Christopher M. Quinones, age 28 from Harrison, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and transported to Roselle Park Police Headquarters where he was processed. Mr. Quinones was issued motor vehicle summonses for the stop and charged with possession of c.d.s. He was served on a summons and released with a future court date.

At approximately 2:13 a.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a motor vehicle stop on West Westfield Avenue on a 2013 Chrysler for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Malcolm B. Olds, age 31 from Roselle, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and transported to Roselle Park Police Headquarters where he was processed. Mr. Olds was issued motor vehicle summonses for the stop as well as driving while suspended and served a summons for possession of c.d.s. He was released with a future court date.
At approximately 9:17 a.m., Patrolman Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on West Westfield Avenue on a 1995 Ford for an equipment violation. The passenger of the vehicle who identified himself as David Torres with a date of birth of January 15, 1970 was found to be David J. Rodriguez, age 46 from Rahway, who was wanted by the Union County Sheriff’s Department for violation of probation on a drug charge. He was arrested and charged with hindering his own apprehension by giving false information to law enforcement. Mr. Rodriguez was served with a warrant and bail set at $15,000. He was also found to have active warrants out of Elizabeth, Montville, and Tinton Falls Municipal Courts. He was ultimately lodged into the Union County Jail.
