On Monday. at approximately 5:24 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2001 Hyundai for an equipment violation. The passenger of the vehicle, Douglas Melvin, age 28 from Irvington, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana, an open alcoholic beverage, and drug paraphernalia. He also had an active warrant for his arrest out of Newark Municipal Court for $200. Mr. Melvin was arrested for the warrant, Possession of CDS, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance on a summons with a future court date.

At approximately 9:36 a.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a pedestrian stop on a woman identified as Patricia Meihoefer, age 58 from Roselle Park, for jay walking. She was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (crack cocaine). Ms. Meihoefer was charged with Possession of CDS and jay walking. She was released with a summons.
