Police Activity Report (July 15 – 24, 2015)

July 15, 2015

At approximately 8:07 a.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2007 Nissan on 1st Avenue at Locust Street in Roselle for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, James Small, age 35 from Linden, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Roselle Park Municipal Court for $539 and Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department (no bail). He was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Small was arrested and charged with possession of CDS and bail was set at $2,500. He posted all Roselle Park Municipal Court bail and was turned over to Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department.

Later that evening in an unrelated incident, at approximately 10:47 p.m., Patrolman Brian Macdonald conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2002 Pontiac on Chestnut Street for an equipment violation. The passenger of the vehicle, James A. Murray, age 27 from Newark, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Murray was charged with possession of CDS, drug paraphernalia, and failure to turn over CDS to police. He was released on a summons with a future court date. The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons at the scene.

At approximately 11:42 p.m., Patrolman Dean Khallaf conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2001 Honda on Locust Street for driving while suspended. The driver of the vehicle, Katherine L. Cabrera, age 19 from Roselle Park, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Cabrera was charged with possession of CDS and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons with a future court date.

July 17, 2015

On Friday, July 17th, at approximately 5:04 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2007 Pontiac on Westfield Avenue for an equipment violation. The passenger of the vehicle, Keissan Mickens, age 19 from Elizabeth, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and drug paraphernalia. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of Union County Sheriff’s Department (no bail). Mr. Mickens was charged with possession of CDS, drug paraphernalia, and failure to turn over CDS to police. Bail was set at $5,000 and he was subsequently lodged into the Union County Jail. The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons on-scene.

July 24, 2015

On Friday at approximately 6:02 p.m., Sergeant Matthew Disano conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2004 Chevy on Galloping Hill Road for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Darell L. Reeves, age 26 from Roselle, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and destruction of evidence as he allegedly tried to eat the CDS. Mr. Reeves was charged with possession of CDS and destruction of evidence. He was released on a summons with a future court date.
