At 1251 a.m., Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) Officer Dean Khallaf conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2001 Toyota for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Brian P. Walsh, age 19 of Roselle Park, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was also found to be in possession of alcohol while under age. Mr. Walsh was charged with DWI, Under Age Possession Of Alcohol, and Under The Influence Of A Controlled Dangerous Substance. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to signal, DWI in school zone, failure to produce insurance card, open container of alcohol, and careless and reckless driving. Mr. Walsh was released on a summonses with a Roselle Park municipal court date.

Roselle Park Police were contacted by Bethlehem Police Department regarding a theft of a motorcycle that took place in their jurisdiction on July 3rd. A warrant was issued for the suspect who was identified as Alan J. Nunez age 21 from Roselle Park. On July 5th, at 6:45 p.m., Detective John Deegan located Mr. Nunez where he was placed under arrest and formally charged with fugitive from justice. He was lodged into the Union County Jail awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania on the warrant for the theft that occurred in their jurisdiction.

At 3:02 am, Officer Avsar Patel conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2007 Volkswagen Wagon along on West Westfield Avenue near Gordon Street for numerous motor vehicle violations. The driver, Vladimir Montoya, age 24 from Elizabeth, was found to be driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and during the course of the investigation a glass pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana was also located in Mr. Montoya’s possession. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons with a pending Roselle Park municipal court date.
Later that morning in an unrelated incident, at 9:29 a.m., Officer Ryan Hokanson conducted a motor vehicle stop of 2017 Ford along Walnut Street and First Avenue in Roselle for equipment violations. The driver, Jose E. Reyes, age 22 of Perth Amboy, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. The passenger Jennifer Abreu, age 22 of Elizabeth, was found to be in possession of a vape pen with suspected cannabis oil. Mr. Reyes was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance suspected marijuana, and issued motor vehicle summons for tinted windows and CDS in a motor vehicle. Ms. Abreu was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous (suspected cannabis oil). Both were charged and released on summonses with a future Roselle Park municipal court date.

At 3:52 a.m., Officer Angelo Marino conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2000 Chevy for an equipment violation. The driver, Eric M. Wright, age 29 from Roselle Park, was found to be in possession of suspected heroin. Mr. Wright was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s (heroin) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons with a Union County Superior Court date. Motor vehicle summonses issued for tinted windows, failure to wear seatbelt and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.
