Police Activity Report (January 29 – February 2, 2015)

January 29, 2015

Last Thursday, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Patrolman John Deegan conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2000 Nissan on Locust Street at West Colfax Avenue for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Kareem Ahmed, age 20 of Kenilworth, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Sayreville Municipal Court bail totaling $352. The passenger, Nicolas A. Torres-Alvillar, age 20 from Kenilworth, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Both Mr. Ahmed and Mr. Torres-Alvillar were arrested. Mr. Torres-Alvillar was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released with a summons. Mr. Ahmed was turned over to Sayreville Police for the outstanding warrant.

January 30, 2015

At approximately 2:16 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1996 Mercury on West Westfield Avenue at Locust Street after learning that the driver had an outstanding warrant out of Rahway Municipal Court in the amount of $500. The driver of the vehicle, Jamaria D. Bellinger, age 32 of Edison, was found to be in possession of suspected CDS (under 50 grams) of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Bellinger was arrested and charged with possession of CDS. and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Union County jail on $2,500 bail.

January 31, 2015

On Saturday at approximately 10:35 p.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1996 Nissan on West Westfield Avenue at Locust Street for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Alexandro E. Kentros, age 66 of Elizabeth, was found to be in possession of CDS (under 50 grams) of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Kentros was arrested and charged with possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to turn over CDS to police. He was released on a summons.

February 2, 2015

Yesterday at approximately 9:25 p.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2000 Volkswagen on East Grant Avenue at Walnut Street for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Christopher Sylvestre, age 18 of Elizabeth, was found to be in possession of CDS (under 50 grams) of suspected marijuana and possession of CDS (suspected cocaine). Mr. Sylvestre was arrested and charged with possession of CDS. He was released on a summons.
