Police Activity Report (February 12 – 28, 2018)

February 12, 2018
At 12 a.m. (midnight), Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD)  officer William Hannon Jr. conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2008 Audi along West Westfield Avenue at Locust Street for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Sydney Mcmanus-Smith, age 19 from East Brunswick, and passengers David M. Kuhn, age 19 from Highland Park, and a 17-year-old male from East Brunswick were all found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Ms. Mcmanus-Smith was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle, tinted windows, and failure to provide valid registration card. Mr. Kuhn was arrested and charged with two (2) counts of possession of c.d.s. (cocaine and marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. The juvenile was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. All were released on a summons with a future Union County Superior Court date.

February 13, 2018
At around 1:07 p.m., RPPD officers Avsar Patel and Mitchell White conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2016 Honda along East Westfield Avenue after a license plate inquiry revealed the registered owner to be a suspended driver. The driver of the vehicle, Aneil G. Badri, age 26 from Bloomfield, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Badri was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. and drug paraphernalia. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle and driving while suspended. He was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

February 15, 2018
At around 12:19 a.m., RPPD officer Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 Saab along Locust Street for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Alexander L. Goleczynski, age 35 from Roselle, was found to be in possession of suspected heroin and prescription pills. Mr. Goleczynski was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. and possession of five (5) or more doses of a prescription legend drug without a valid prescription. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle and maintenance of lamps. Mr. Goleczynski was ultimately released on a summons with a Union County Superior Court date.

February 16, 2018
At 1:28 a.m., RPPD officer Ryan Hokanson conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2017 Honda along Chestnut Street for a parking violation. The vehicle was parked and occupied at the time. The driver of the vehicle, Justin O. Rodriguez, age 24 from Roselle Park, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Rodriguez was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle and driving while suspended. A borough summons was also issued for parking in a fire zone. Mr. Rodriguez was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

February 18, 2018
At approximately 9:59 p.m., RPPD officer Angelo Marino conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2016 Dodge along Gordon Street for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Steven Santiago, age 38 from Worcester, Massachusetts, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Santiago was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle, driving while suspended, tinted windows, and unclear plates. Mr. Santiago was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

February 20, 2018
At 12:09 a.m., RPPD officer Angelo Marino conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2001 Volkswagen along West Westfield Avenue for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Christopher Arias, age 20 from Hillside, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Arias was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle and failure to stop at stop sign. Mr. Arias was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

February 21, 2018
At around 11:49 p.m., RPPD officer Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1998 Chrysler along West Westfield Avenue for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Alberto Vital, age 23 from Irvington, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Vital was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle, unlicensed driver, driving while suspended and tinted windows. Mr. Vital was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

February 22, 2018
At approximately 11:51 p.m., RPPD officer Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2003 Nissan along Locust Street after a license plate inquiry revealed the registered owner to be a suspended driver. The driver of the vehicle, Autumn S. Sloane, age 20 from Roselle, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Sloane was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle, improper display of license plate, and too many passengers while driving on a probationary license. Mr. Sloane was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

February 25, 2018
At 10:48 a.m., RPPD officer Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2003 Toyota along West Colfax Avenue after a license plate inquiry revealed the registered owner to be a suspended driver. The driver of the vehicle, Joris J. Vilfort, age 23 from Roselle, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Vilfort was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle, and driving while suspended. Mr. Vilfort was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

February 27, 2018
At 1:14 a.m., RPPD officer William Hannon Jr. conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 Hyundai along Faitoute Avenue for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Jorge A. Galo, age 21 from Roselle, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. During a search incident to the arrest, Mr. Galo was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possession of c.d.s. and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Galo was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, d.w.i. in a school zone, reckless driving, careless driving, and failure to obey a traffic signal. He was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

February 28, 2018
At around 8:15 p.m., RPPD officers responded to an apartment complex on East Westfield Avenue on a report of a dispute. Once on-scene, officers made contact and arrested Donald A. Paterno, age 65 from Roselle Park, on an outstanding warrant out of Linden Municipal Court. According to police, during a search incident to the arrest, it was revealed that Mr. Paterno was in possession of suspected marijuana. He was charged with possession of c.d.s., served on a summons and released on a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.
