At 1 a.m., Roselle Park Police were flagged down on West Webster Avenue by a driver for “AM PM Limo Service” out of Bergen County. The driver reported that three (3) people had just run from his cab without paying the $65 fare.
The fare originated in Rutherford with the destination being West Webster Avenue at Bridge Street in Roselle Park.
The driver described the suspects as an Asian female, a black male and a heavy set Hispanic male. A brief investigation by Patrolman Joshua Medrano resulted in the arrests of all three (3) suspects for theft of services. Chadler Joseph, 20, and Luis F. Galindo, 20, both of Roselle Park, were arrested on Thursday, February 7th. Galindo was lodged into Union County Jail on $5,000 bail. Joseph posted bail and was released. The juvenile has an appearance pending in Union County Family Court.

At 2 p.m., Roselle Park Police responded to an apartment building on the 100 block of East Westfield Avenue for a reported of a burglary. The caller reported that the suspect forced entry to the building then broke into a washing machine looking for coins. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. A few minutes later, Patrolman Michael Smith, located a suspect on the 300 block of East Westfield Avenue. The suspect matched the description given by the witness.
The suspect, Leon Holston, was positively identified by the victim as the burglary suspect moments later. Holston, 45 years old with addresses in Newark and Roselle, was charged with Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Theft, Possession of burglar tools and Criminal attempt. Holston was unable to post $15,000 bail and was transported to the Union County Jail.

Troy C. Barrientos, 21, of the Township of Union, was arrested during a traffic stop by Patrolman Angelo Marino for possession of a weapon. Barrientos was found in possession of brass knuckles during a traffic stop on Westfield Avenue according to police.

Muhammed Allah, 42, of Newark, was arrested by Patrolman Alexander Lanza for possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Gordon Street. Allah was found in possession of wax folds and straws containing suspected heroin residue. Allah’s passenger, Jamaal McClain, 29, of Irvington was arrested after he was found possessing three (3) bags of suspected marijuana.
Henry C. Sorger Jr, 54, of Roselle Park, was arrested by Patrolman Mitchell White during a pedestrian stop near Walnut Street. Sorger was found to have warrants from Shrewsbury Municipal Court. Sorger was unable to post bail and was released into custody of Shrewsbury Police Department.

Anthony P. Principe, 30, of Roselle, a bicyclist, was stopped by Patrolman Dean Khallaf for operating a bicycle in a careless manner. Principe was traveling in the lane of travel, against traffic without a light, according to police. Principe was arrested after police located warrants totaling $1,188 from the Elizabeth Municipal Court. Elizabeth Police responded and took custody of Principe.

Titarold Vaughn, 48, of Roselle was arrested on a Roselle warrant during a traffic stop on Chestnut Street by Patrolman Vaughan. Vaughn posted bail and was released.

Police responded to a reported theft at Dunkin Donuts, located at 47 West Westfield Avenue. The complainant reported that he saw a Roselle man, Kercy Pierre, age 39, steal money from the tip jar on the counter. Pierre was found to have active warrants in the amount of $500. Pierre was arrested and later turned over to Roselle Police. The victim was advised of complaint procedures and directed to the Roselle Park Municipal Court.

Roselle Park Police responded to a loud dispute on the 600 block of Chestnut Street early Monday morning. They were met outside a nearby residence by a female at 12:45 a.m. who stated she was assaulted by Ronel D. Garner, 33, of Roselle Park. The female, Carmen Lopez, 38, also of Roselle Park, stated she and Garner had an argument resulting in Garner striking her in the face.
Garner was located inside the residence and taken into custody for simple assault. Garner then alleged that he struck Lopez in self defense as she stabbed him with scissors. Garner stated she struck his arms with scissors, causing multiple puncture wounds and a small laceration.
Garner then refused to cooperate with the continuing police investigation.
Lopez was also arrested and charged with simple assault. While being processed at police headquarters, Garner was found to be in possession of four bags of suspected marijuana. Garner was unable to post bail and was transported to the Union County Jail. Lopez was released later in the morning after posting bail. The investigation into the weapons offense and aggravated assault is continuing as police try to develop further

Cluese Smalley, 55, of Newark was arrested by Patrolman Gregory Polakoski while in custody at the Summit Police Department. Smalley was found to have a $1,000 warrant issued by the Roselle Park Municipal Court. Smalley was transported to the Union County Jail.
At 9 a.m., Reygustin Montesdeoca, 25, of Woodbridge, was arrested during a traffic stop by Patrolman Mitchell White. Montesdeoca was found to have a $729 warrant issued by the Linden Municipal Court. He was later released into custody of the Linden Police Department.

Rahmir S. Sumler, 19 of Linden, was arrested during a traffic stop on Walnut Street by Patrolman Mitchell White. Officer White found Sumler in possession of suspected marijuana. When he was taken into custody, Sumler reportedly swallowed the small package. Sumler was charged with possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dmitriy Ishmuratov, 26 of Hopelawn, was arrested at 10:33 p.m. by Patrolman Dean Khallaf during a traffic stop on Faitoute Avenue for Contempt of Court. Ishmuratov was found to have a warrant from the South Brunswick Municipal Court in the amount of $500. He was released after posting bail.

James A. Bondurant, III, 35 of Orange, was arrested by Patrolman Michael Smith during a traffic stop on Walnut Street. Bondurant was arrested after he was found to be a wanted person by the Essex County Sheriff’s Department. Bondurant was found to have other warrants totaling $2,327.00 from Orange, East Orange, West Orange, and Summit municipal courts. He was released into custody of the Essex County Sheriff.
Robert Peters, 50 of Roselle Park, was arrested by Patrolman Alexander Lanza during an investigation on Franklin Place. Peters was charged with simple assault after police responded to a dispute.
Emma McCabe, 30 of Roselle Park, was arrested by Patrolman Marino during an investigation on East Westfield Avenue. McCabe was charged with simple assault after police responded to a dispute.

Ralph Chandler, III, 25 of East Stoudsberg, PA was arrested by Patrolman Angelo Marino during a traffic stop on East Westfield Avenue. Officer Marino found warrants for Chandler totaling $1,937.00 out of Roselle Park, Dunellen, Edison, Elizabeth, Westfield and Irvington. Chandler was transported to the Union County Jail.
Amanda Schifano, 35 of Port Reading, was arrested by Patrolman Jeffrey Rapach after he responded to reports of a vehicle obstructing traffic at the intersection of Locust Street at West Westfield Avenue. Officer Rapach found Schifano asleep in her car with her foot on the brake. He tried to alert the driver but she was unresponsive for several minutes. Rapach used a ‘lockjock” to gain access to the vehicle. He was then finally able to wake up Schifano, who appeared to be intoxicated. Schifano was given sobriety tests at the scene and was then charged with DWI and related traffic offenses. Police also charged her with marijuana possession after they found three (3) suspected marijuana cigarettes in her vehicle.
