At 2:18 a.m., Patrolman Alexander Lanza – while on patrol of the 300 block of East Lincoln Avenue – observed an individual walking on the darkened roadway. Fearing that the pedestrian was a danger to himself and passing motorists, Lanza and Patrolman Rick Gaylord stopped to offer assistance. The man, Anthony Brown, 25 of Roselle Park, refused to comply with the officers’ directions and/or questions. He then refused, shoved his hands into his jacket pockets, and refused to remove them. Brown tried walking way from Lanza and Gaylord. Brown, who appeared heavily intoxicated, stopped but then hid his hands again. Brown was then found to have a $750 warrant from Roselle Park Municipal Court. Brown was arrested on the warrant then charged with Obstruction of Justice; bail was set at $2,500. Brown was lodged in Union County Jail in lieu of $3,250 bail.
At 11:30 p.m., Roselle Park Police responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in Municipal Parking Lot 1. The victim, a 60-year-old female from Cranford, parked her car in the parking lot earlier in the evening. When she returned to her car, she found that her purse was missing from the trunk. She then discovered that the suspect(s) attempted using her credit cards at a nearby bank. The suspect(s) then gained access to her cellphone, which was used to send pictures of male genitals to many of her phone contacts. Detective Harms is investigating the burglary and theft from the car.

Roselle Park Police responded to a dispute at a home on Beechwood Avenue where they encountered Marlon Davis, age 40 of Roselle Park. Davis stated he was having an argument with the victim over their relationship. The victim reported that during the argument Davis pulled hair from her head and assaulted her. Davis was arrested by Patrolman Brian Macdonald and charged with Aggravated Assault and Harassment. He was lodged in Union County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
At 10:23 a.m., Roselle Park Police responded to Sherman Avenue for a report of an assault. Upon arriving at the scene, the female victim reported that the suspect, a male known to her, fled the scene. Jaime Pagan, 25 of Roselle Park, is reported to have assaulted the victim with his bare hands and with an ice scraper. The victim suffered minor abrasions and bruising but refused medical aid. Pagan was charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for unlawful purpose, Terroristic Threats, and Criminal Mischief. Pagan, who later turned himself in, was lodged in Union County Jail in lieu of $22,500 bail.
