Police Activity Report (December 26 – 29, 2012)

December 26

Anthony J. Farnham, age 51 of Point Pleasant, was arrested at the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department by Patrolman Kostantinos Vathianakis. Farnham was charged with harassment earlier in the day stemming from an incident in which he threatened injury to a Roselle Park resident. Farnham was lodged in the Union County Jail on $10,000 bail.

December 27

A resident of the 200 block of Pershing Avenue reported that his 2001 Toyota Sienna was stolen from his driveway between 9 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.

Ana Naranjo, age 31 of Roselle Park, was arrested and charged with Simple Assault, Harassment and Hindering Apprehension at 10:50am by Patrolman Edward Nortrup. Naranjo was accused by another Roselle Park resident, who suffered minor facial abrasions, of assault and harassment. When police went to find her, they reported that she was found hiding in another apartment. Naranjo was lodged in the Union County Jail on $5,000 bail.

At 11 p.m., Roselle Park Police responded to a report of individuals using narcotics in a Walnut Street apartment. Upon arrival, Patrolman Robert Harms found no evidence of narcotics use but did find warrants for RP resident Juan S. Delrio, age 25, from Roselle Park Municipal Court in amount of $1,000. Delrio was arrested then released after posting bail in full.

December 28

Around midnight, police responded to a report of an unruly patron at Mulligan’s Bar. Management directed responding officers to Gavrila F. Ford, 34 of Roselle Park, who was reportedly refusing to leave the bar. Ford agreed to leave and was driven to his residence a few blocks away. Police were again called to Mulligan’s for a disturbance. Ford, an electrician working for FEMA, was found in the middle of Chestnut Street yelling loudly and obstructing traffic. Patrolman Alexander Lanza arrested Ford for Disorderly Conduct. He was later released to a family member.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., Patrolman Nicholas Vaughan was on patrol when he observed an individual acting suspiciously near a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Sherman Avenue. Robert Espinal, age 30 of Jersey City – an employee of a nearby business -was found in possession of over 30 prescription pills including Alprazolam and Buprenophine Hydrochloride. Reportedly, he also possessed two (2) small bags containing heroin. Espinal was charged with Possession of CDS, Possession of CDS with the Intent to Distrubute and Possession of CDS/ School Zone. He was lodged in Union County Jail on $50,000 bail.

December 29

Sergeant Dominick Frino was on patrol when he reported that he observed an individual that resembled a burglary suspect standing near Locust Street at West Westfield Avenue. Jason A. Russell, age 30 of Roselle Park, was stopped and arrested for Defiant Trespass. The owner of a nearby food business reported to police he observed Russell on top of his roof in the early morning hours but had fled the area when confronted. Russell was released pending an appearance in Roselle Park Municipal Court.

At 1:10 a.m., Patrolman Joshua Medrano stopped a 1998 Chevrolet for traffic violations on 500 block of Faitoute Avenue. Medrano found evidence of suspected narcotics use in the vehicle and arrested Newark, DE residents Anthony Kaiser, age 19, and Joseph Kaiser, age 24, and Cranford resident Matthew Andujar, age 24. All were charged with Possession of CDS / Crystal Methamphetamine and Possession of Synthetic Marijuana.

Tariq I. Muhammad, 31 of Irvington, was arrested during a traffic stop by Patrolman Dean Khallaf on Faitoute Avenue. Muhammad was found to have a Hillside Municipal Court warrant totaling $1,250.
