Police Activity Report (December 12 – 16, 2014)

December 12, 2014

On Friday, at approximately 1:23 a.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1998 Nissan on Dalton Street for an equipment violation. The passenger of the vehicle, Mahron Williams, age 34 of Roselle Park, exited the vehicle and attempted to walk away from officers, according to police. He was ordered back to the vehicle where he was extremely uncooperative and disorderly during the entire traffic stop, “yelling obscenities at the police” loud enough to awaken several neighbors in the area, causing them to exit their homes to see what was going on. He also refused to provide pedigree information for the equipment violation. He was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct. While in custody he remained uncooperative and disorderly, where he relieved himself by urinating in the processing room at police headquarters twice. He was subsequently released on summonses for disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and failure to wear a seatbelt. The driver of the vehicle, Francis Alexander, was issued a summons on for the initial equipment violation and released from scene.

December 13, 2014

On Saturday at approximately 12:30 a.m., Detective Robert Harms conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1992 Dodge on West Westfield Avenue at Filbert Street for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Toni B. Lenz, age 53 of West Orange, was found to be in possession of a suspected Controlled Dangerous Substance (under 50 grams) marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS and drug paraphernalia. She was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of Union Township Municipal Court for $250. Ms. Lenz was issued summonses and released on bail.

At approximately 7:38 p.m. Monday evening, Patrolman Dean Khallaf conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 Toyota on Park Avenue at Harding Road in Elizabeth after recognizing the driver to be driving while suspended and having several active outstanding warrants for his arrest. The driver of the vehicle, James Talbot, age 53 of Roselle Park was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated, (DWI) with a minor in the vehicle and several outstanding warrants out of Roselle Park, Middletown, Kenilworth, Madison, Holmdel, and Long Branch totaling $9,681. Mr. Talbot was ultimately issued summonses and released on bail.
