Police Activity Report (August 8 – 21, 2017)

August 8, 2017
At 2:59 p.m., Patrolman Anthony Rodriguez conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2010 Infinity along Madison Avenue for an equipment violation. The driver, identified as Stephen A. Nieves, age 28 from Milltown, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Nieves was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date. He was also issued motor vehicle summons for driving while suspended, possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle, and expired inspection.

August 11, 2017
At approximately 10:23 p.m., Patrolman Kyle Snyder conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2003 Ford along East Westfield Avenue near Galloping Hill Road for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Alexis Rivera, age 34 of Elizabeth, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Rivera was arrested and charged with possession of suspected c.d.s. and was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle and maintenance of lamps. Ms. Rivera was ultimately released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court Date.

August 14, 2017
At approximately 12:36 a.m., Sergeant Matthew Disano approached a 2008 Acura on Williams Street that had its passenger-side door wide open and was blocking the driveway where he discovered a male seated in the driver seat. The male was identified as Jorell J. Glover, age 22 from Vauxhall. Mr. Glover was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Woodbridge Township Municipal Court for $150 and arrested for same. He was subsequently found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Glover was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Bail was posted and he was ultimately released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court Date. Motor vehicle summonses were issued for blocking a driveway and possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle.

August 16, 2017
At approximately 5:54 p.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a pedestrian stop on an individual along West Grant Avenue near Chestnut Street for failure to use the crosswalk. The pedestrian, identified as Donuel E. Benedetto, age 33 from Hillside, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and charged with possession of c.d.s. and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Benedetto was ultimately released on a summons with a Roselle Park Municipal Court date.

August 20, 2017
At approximately 3:25 a.m., Patrolman John Fitzgerald conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2003 Honda on Linden Road for multiple moving violations. The driver of the vehicle, Tahiyyah N. Muhammad, age 20 from Scranton, PA, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Further investigation led to the discovery of suspected marijuana, cocaine, xannax, and drug paraphernalia located in the vehicle. Subsequently, both passengers who were identified as Samar Terry, age 19 from Linden, and a 17-year-old female juvenile from Roselle were also placed under arrest. Muhammad, Terry and the female juvenile were all charged with three (3) counts of possession of c.d.s., possession of c.d.s. with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Muhammad was issued motor vehicle summons for D.W.I., failure to maintain lane, possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle, careless and reckless driving, improper right turn, D.W.I. in a school zone. All were released on a summons with a Union County Superior Court date.

August 21, 2017
At approximately 12:31 a.m., Patrolman Dean Khallaf conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2015 Jeep along Maplewood Avenue for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Jennifer H. Halupka, age 27 of Roselle Park, was placed under arrest for obstruction and driving while intoxicated. Subsequent to the arrest, Ms. Halupka was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and adderall along with drug paraphernalia. She was charged with two (2) counts of possession of c.d.s., possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction, resisting arrest, and possession of prescription legend drugs. She was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of c.d.s. in a motor vehicle, failure to stop at stop sign, D.W.I., refusal to submit to breathe test, careless driving, and failure to possess a driver’s license or registration card. Ms. Halupka was ultimately released on a summons pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court Date.
