At approximately 9:25 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on West Westfield Avenue on a 2005 Mazda for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Lawrence Claiborne, age 22 from East Orange, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Claiborne was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. and drug paraphernalia. The passenger of the vehicle, Deshawn Claiborne, age 23 from Newark, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Bloomfield Municipal Court in the amount of $178. He also initially identified himself to police as Justin Claiborne with a different date of birth. He was arrested for the outstanding warrant and charged with hindering his own apprehension. After posting bail both Deshawn and Lawrence Claiborne were released on a summons with a court date. Three motor vehicle summonses were also issued to the driver.

At approximately 3:28 a.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a motor vehicle stop on Locust Street on a 2002 Acura for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Earl Jacobs, age 40 from Newark, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Bloomfield Municipal Court in the amount of $1,168. He was arrested on the warrant. The passenger of the vehicle, Josephine Lebron, age 28 from Roselle Park, was found to have an active warrant for her arrest out of Cranford Municipal Court in the amount of $89. She was arrested on that warrant. Both were transported to Roselle Park Police Headquarters where both were processed and it was discovered that Ms. Lebron was in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was charged with possession of c.d.s. and drug paraphernalia and was released on a summons with a court date. Mr. Jacobs could not satisfy his bail and was turned over to Bloomfield Police Department.

At approximately 9:42 p.m., Patrolman Mitchell White conducted a motor vehicle stop on Chestnut Street on a 2007 Acura for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Ryan J. Marques, age 28 from Colonia, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. and drug paraphernalia. He was released with a court date. Four motor vehicle summonses were also issued.

At approximately 1:15 a.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on West Westfield Avenue on a 2000 Honda for an equipment violation. The passenger of the vehicle, John A. Mayen, age 20 from Elizabeth, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Mayen was released on a summons with a court date along with a motor vehicle summons for possession of an opened alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.
Almost half an hour later, at approximately 1:44 a.m., Patrolman Gregory Polakoski conducted a motor vehicle stop on East Westfield Avenue on a 2015 BMW for a moving violation. The passenger of the vehicle, Dajahn A. Howard, age 23 from Maplewood, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of c.d.s. Mr. Howard was released on a summons with a court date.
