At approximately 11:09 p.m., Patrolman Kyle Snyder observed a silver Honda on Locust Street in violation of NJSA 39:3-66 (Maintenance of Lamps). A motor vehicle stop of the vehicle was conducted with a subsequent investigation, resulting in the discovery of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The passenger, Alquan Dobbs, age 24 of Newark, was placed under arrest and charged with 3rd degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, 3rd degree Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute, 3rd degree Distribution of CDS within 1,000 feet of School Property, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, and Failure to Turnover CDS to Police. Mr. Dobbs was processed pending a Union County Superior Court date and was then turned over to the Irvington Police Department for an outstanding warrant for $200.

At approximately 3:14 a.m., Patrolwoman Jessica Diaz and Patrolman Angelo Marino were dispatched to the 100 block of West Clay Avenue on a report of a group of suspicious males who appeared to be trespassing at a local residence. A pedestrian stop was conducted with a male in the area who fit the description given by the caller. The stop and investigation resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana on the suspicious male. The pedestrian, Maximinio A. Cruz, age 20 of Roselle Park, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS. Mr. Cruz was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.
April 21, 2017
A little past 12:30 in the morning, Lieutenant Manuel Jimenez – while on distracted driver patrol – observed a black Cadilac traveling on East Westfield Avenue with the driver of the vehicle appearing to be using her cell phone while driving. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle was found to be a 16-year-old female who was unlicensed and issued a motor vehicle summons for the same. The motor vehicle stop and investigation resulted in the discovery of the passenger, Isaiah D. Sanjuanelo, age 18 of Elizabeth, being in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Sanjuanelo was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS. He was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.
Later that day, at around 11:28 pm, in an unrelated incident, Patrolman William Hannon – while on patrol – reportedly observed a silver Chrysler traveling westbound on West Westfield Avenue in violation of NJSA 39:3-75 (tinted windows). A traffic stop was conducted and the stop and subsequent investigation resulted in the discovery of the passenger, Anissa L. Rose, age 26 of Montclair, being in possession of suspected marijuana. She was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of CDS. Ms. Rose was found to have two (2) outstanding warrants out of Montclair Municipal Court for $2,500 and Caldwell Municipal Court for $525. She was released into the custody of Montclair Police Department pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.

At approximately 9:18 p.m., Patrolman Ryan Hokanson – while on patrol – observed a silver Lexus traveling westbound on West Westfield Avenue above the posted speed limit permitted in violation of NJSA (39:4-98). The vehicle had multiple other equipment violations. A traffic stop was conducted and as a result of the stop and investigation the driver Ivan Luna-Rodriguez, age 31 of East Orange, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Mr. Luna-Rodriguez was placed under arrest and charged with possession of CDS and motor vehicle summonses for obstructed view (NJSA 39:3-74), and CDS in a Motor Vehicle (NJSA 39:4-49.1). He was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.
April 25, 2017
At approximately 10:32 a.m., Patrolman Mitchell White – while on patrol – observed a male walking southbound on the 500 block of Hemlock Street who appeared to be holding suspected contraband in his hand. A pedestrian stop was conducted and the pedestrian was discovered to be holding a hand-rolled cigar that contained suspected marijuana. The pedestrian, James T. McFadden, age 41 from Roselle Park, was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Hindering His own Apprehension after providing the police officer with the false name of “James Settles” apparently knowing he had a warrant out of Essex County Superior Court for non-payment of child support. He was released into the custody of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance date.
