Newark Woman Charged With Various Charges After Vehicle Stop thumbnail

On September 11, 2011 at about 3:19 po południu, Patrolman Kevin Florczak observed a black Pontiac traveling eastbound on West Westfield Avenue in the area of Gordon Street. A check of the registration revealed the registered owner’s license was suspended. A motor vehicle stop resulted in the discovery of one (1) metal grinder containing suspected marijuana, jeden (1) Dutch Master cigar; jeden (1) opened 1.5 liter bottle of Sutter Home White Merlot, dwa (2) Styrofoam cups located in the center console cup holders which contained a red liquid with ice cubes, and a knife on the passenger’s seat concealed under the passenger.

The driver was charged with 39:4-51(a) (consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle) and 39:4-51(b) (open container in a motor vehicle). Pasażer, who was the registered owner, Cortne Ellis, wiek 28 Newark, NJ was charged with 2C:39-3(i) (prohibited weapon); 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana), 2C:36-2 (posiadanie narkotykowych akcesoriów), and 39:4-51(a) (consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle). She was released pending a Union County Superior Court date on September 21, 2011.
