Photo Contest Open To All Residents

The Roselle Park Casano Community Center Art Gallery is holding a photography contest around the theme “Roselle Park in Summer – A Fun Place To Be!” with entries being accepted from now until June 11, 2014. Entrants will be eligible to exhibit their submissions in the mid-June gallery exhibit.

The contest is the opportunity for resident photographers to share their love of their hometown. Entrants can use photographs that have already been taken or take new images that capture everyday events like having fun in the backyard or deck, watching birds sitting on branches, or Roselle Park events such as the St. Anthony’s Feast and others like the town wide picnic or car show. Anything on the topic of Summer in Roselle Park is acceptable except for shots of flowers unless they are part of the larger scene.

The contest is open to Roselle Park residents only but entrants need not be a professional photographer or artist to enter. The only other stipulation is that photographs must have been taken in Roselle Park.

The deadline is Wednesday, June 11, 2014 by 5 p.m. Entrants can submit up to four (4) of their best photos. Digital JPEG formats at 72 dpi are preferred but photographers can arrange to meet with Leona Seufert at the Art Gallery for other formats.

There will be two awards given, one for “Best of Show” and the other for “Viewer’s Choice”.

Anyone needing more information can contact Leona Seufert by calling (908) 241-5874 for details.

The Casano Community Center is located at 314 Chestnut Street and is a gathering place for the whole Roselle Park community with programs for senior citizens during the day and activities throughout the year for all ages. The mission of the Art Gallery is to give Roselle Park residents a venue to display their artistic works and connect with the community at large.
