Thursday night’s Mayor & Council meeting had the formal swearing-in of Sam Sukool as a Probationary Police Officer. This was the public oath of office that was taken for Resolution 209-15, which was the hiring of Patrolman Sukool and approved at the July 30th Mayor & Council meeting. Officer Sukool could not attend that meeting due to he and his family attending his grandmother’s funeral.
Officer Sukool comes from the Hoboken Police Department, where he served as a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer. Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) Police Chief Paul Morrison commented on the new officer, “He gained a lot of experience there which he can put to great use here in Roselle Park. Officer Sukool, congratulations. I wish you all the success in your law enforcement career.”
Patrolman Sukool remarked after being publicly sworn in, “I’d like to thank the council, Mayor Hokanson, Chief Morrison. I want to let you know that I’ll give my 110% and be the best officer I can be and help keep this town safe.”
Officer Sukool was hired to maintain the Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) complement after the resignation of Kyle Lamar, who was hired as a RPPD officer in February of last year. Patrolman Sukool will have an annual salary of $52,985.46. He was officially hired as a RPPD officer effective August 3, 2015.
