On December 14, 2010 at about 9:24 p.m., Patrolman Kevin Florczak observed a red Toyota traveling westbound on East Westfield Avenue at a high rate of speed (49 MPH in 35 MPH zone). A registration inquiry using the patrol vehicle’s on board computer revealed the registered owner’s license to be suspended.
The owner/driver was identified as Jason Jennings, age 34, of Paterson, NJ.
A motor vehicle stop on the 100 block of Filbert Street resulted in the discovery of a small clear Ziplock bag of suspected CDS marijuana. Jennings was arrested and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana); 39:4-98 (speeding); 39:3-40A (suspended driver); and 39:4-49.1 (possession of CDS in a motor vehicle).
Jennings was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of December 21, 2010.
