The municipal parking lot #1, located on Chestnut Street in between Innovation Optics and World of Liquors has finally had its main entrance road path repaired last Friday, November 7th, after months of being cordoned off with orange caution cones.
The resulting issue of broken asphalt that stretched across the lot started over two years ago when approval was given to the property owner of 127 Chestnut Street to tie in his down spouts to the storm drain in order to prevent icing issues at the side door entrance of the property. The sunken stretch of road, which was on municipal property, occurred this year but the borough was waiting for the private contractor to complete the repairs after all the proper paperwork was in order. The repairs on the parking lot are now complete.
