Ordinance 2550: Changes To Diversity Committee

A bill that will reduce the membership of the Roselle Park Diversity Committee to seven residents is on schedule to be addressed through Ordinance 2550 at the October 4th Mayor & Council meeting.

Much like a previous ordinance for the Environmental Commission, the original roster of nine members is to be reduced. Additionally, this ordinance will allow for the removal of a member for an absence of five (5) consecutive meetings (regular or special meeting) without good cause. ‘Good cause’ is commonly known to mean that a member does not notify the secretary or chair of their absence before a meeting.

The public hearing and vote for Ordinance 2550 are scheduled as part of the 7 p.m. municipal meeting on Thursday, October 4th, at borough hall which is located at 110 East Westfield Avenue.
