Fees for the upcoming Roselle Park Training Center are set to be included in section 10-4.1 of the borough code book.
The new training facility program was recently approved unofficially by the governing body during a municipal budget workshop earlier this year.
As with all paid programs in the borough, fees need to be codified.
The program, unlike Varsity Wrestling, is open to any school-age child from the borough between 3rd and 8th grades interested in strengthening and conditioning. During the presentation, Mayor Carl Hokanson reiterated, “No one will be turned away.”
The fees for participants of the new program, which is what is being voted on through the ordinance, are included below:
Description | Fee |
---|---|
Individual (3rd to 8th Grade) | $40.00 |
Family (3 or more) | $110.00 |
Special Circumstances | $0.00 |
T-Shirt | $8.00 |
Tank Top | $15.00 |
Shorts | $12.00 |
The total amount budgeted for Recreation Wrestling and the training facility this year is $66,400. $3,200 was budgeted for wrestling. An additional $3,200 was moved from Rec Soccer to the training center program. The remaining funds came from a Union County Kid Recreation Trust Fund Grant which was a $60,000 matching grant. Half of the grant came from the county and $30,000 came from taxpayers.
The public hearing and vote by council for Ordinance 2519 is scheduled during the April 5th Mayor & Council meeting. It is set to start at 7 o’clock at night in council chambers of borough hall which is located at 110 East Westfield Avenue.
