Ordinance 2505 To Abolish Prohibition On Public Dancing

The Borough Clerk’s continuing review of Roselle Park’s code book has revealed another outdated law that prohibited public dancing and public entertainment unless a $5 fee was paid to the municipality.

Ordinance 2505 will abolish – in whole – Chapter 5, Section 7 of the Roselle park Code Book titled “Dance And Entertainment”. The law required that entertainment – such as music bands – along with dance event file for a permit. Although on the books, no fees have been collected for years.

The public hearing on this ordinance and subsequent vote are scheduled for Thursday, October 19th. The meeting is set to start at 7 p.m. and is located in council chambers of the Roselle Park Municipal Complex located at 110 East Westfield Avenue.
