The Veterans Chamber of Commerce-NJ, with the support of Mr. Tulsi R. Maharjan – Governor of Rotary International District 7510 – and in partnership with Operation Chillout, Inc. will be embarking on Operation: No Veteran Left Behind. The goal of the program, through community support, is to address the needs of the estimated 8,000+ homeless veterans in the state of New Jersey.
There is an immediate need for cases of bottled water, new t-shirts (L and XL), baseball caps, bug spray, and sun block.
Collection for such items will begin on Memorial Day and go on through Labor Day.
Working with Operation Chillout and their network of Vets Helping Vets, the all-volunteer interfaith group of veterans, friends, and family members dedicate themselves to relieving the suffering caused by the crisis of homelessness among veterans which is compounded by the effects of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).
“Now is the time for all of us who have cherished our freedoms because of our brave veterans to step forward and put an end to this madness which should not exist in the greatest country in the world,” said Veterans Chamber of Commerce-NJ Chief Operating Officer Kevin Murphy.
