NYC Man Charged With Marijuana Possession

On October 2, 2010, at approximately 10:30 p.m., while in the area of E. Westfield Avenue and Sheridan Avenue, Patrolman Richard Gaylord observed a male walk to the window of obviously closed business and look into the store through the glass. The male then proceeded toward a white vehicle that had just pulled onto the property. The vehicle then left the area with out him. He then walked across Westfield Avenue in the middle of the block.

Patrolman Gaylord investigated the suspicious activity and while speaking with the male, later identified as Anjolin Acevedo from Brooklyn, New York, he detected the odor of marijuana. His investigation led to the discovery of a clear plastic cellophane wrap containing suspected marijuana.

Acevedo was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10A(4) (possession of marijuana) and 39:4-34 (failure to use crosswalk). He was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of October 7, 2010.
