Dozens of people — residents and non — walked and drove to Community United Methodist Church (corner of Chestnut St & E. Grant Ave) for some beautiful music.
Jeff Manno, CUMC’s organist/pianist and instrumental music teacher for Roselle Park’s elementary schools, was joined by his wife Cindy Manno. Cindy, a professionally-trained vocalist, displayed her voice beautifully during their concert. All the music for the evening was composed of classic hymns and some lesser-known creations. The common “thread” among all the pieces was their arranger, Mark Hayes, from Kansas City, Missouri. Mark Hayes is one of Mr. Manno’s favorite arrangers.
Music@CUMC is a (mostly) monthly series of concerts, aside from summer, planned by the church’s Music Director, Mike Sanflippo, and assisted by many parishioners and volunteers. The concerts are free. A “free-will” offering is taken at the door entrance with the monies going to CUMC’s music program. You are invited to visit the church’s website www.roselleparkumc.org for more information.
