At the September 2nd Mayor & Council meeting it was announced that the case of Monica Montoya v. The Borough of Roselle Park, et al was settled. When asked for the amount, the Borough Attorney, Blake Johnstone, simply stated that the municipality paid $5,000 to cover the deductible. No other information was made available. Sources close to the investigation have confirmed that the amount paid by Roselle Park Joint Insurance Fund (JIF) was $153,000.
Calls made to Ms. Montoya’s attorney were not returned.
