Residents who will be running for local office as a Democrat or Republican this year filed today for First Ward Candidate and Council-At-Large candidates. Four residents filed and neither sitting member of council whose seat is up for election – Eugene Meola and Charlene Storey – filed under a political party affiliation.
Those who filed for First Ward are:
- Jayme Lynn Negron (Republican)
- Maxine Padulsky (Democrat)
The Council-At-Large candidates are:
- Joseph DeIorio (Republican)
- James D. McCrady (Democrat)
All petitions are subject to the petition review process but, if they are confirmed as valid, these four (4) names will be on the primary ballot in June. The Primary Election will remain a formality in Roselle Park since each major political party candidate for either seat will run unopposed.
Those wishing to run for First Ward or At-Large as an Independent or under any other political party have until 4 p.m. on June 6th, the day of the Primary Election, to file their petition(s).
