The Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) is reaching out to the public in order to help identify a driver who reportedly eluded police and put numerous drivers at risk.
At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18th, RPPD attempted to pull the driver over due to the motorcycle not having a visible license plate. The driver ignored the marked patrol vehicle’s activated lights and siren, according to police, continuing east on Westfield Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver continued into Elizabeth at a high speed and made several dangerous maneuvers to elude police. The pursuit was terminated because of the risk to other drivers.
This same driver is suspected of being involved in a similar incident earlier in the day, eluding the Elizabeth Police Department.
Identification of this motorcycle and driver will assist Roselle Park Police and Elizabeth Police with apprehending the driver.
The driver is described as wearing a red, white and black leather jacket with a light color helmet; possibly a Ducati Corse Leather Jacket.
The motorcycle, possibly a Ducati, was described as a white and red sports bike with red colored wheels.
Anyone with information on this incident, the identity of driver or location of the motorcycle is asked to contact the Roselle Park Police at (908) 245-2300 or by email at police@roselleparkpd.org. All information provided to the police will remain confidential.
