Mold Found In Robert Gordon Cafeteria

In continuing with an issue made public by Tanya Torres during the public portion of the September 6, 2011 BOE meeting, a letter was sent home to Robert Gordon School families on Friday signed by principal James Salvo notifying them that testing by Mr. Mold from Parlin NJ showed ‘elevated levels’ of mold in the basement of the school. There was no date provided as to when the testing was performed.

The letter goes on to state that until remediation is complete and testing confirms that the mold has been removed, Robert Gordon students will be eating lunch next door at the Roselle Park Middle School (RPMS). The principal stated the remediation work is expected to last two weeks.

A report will be made available on September 13th on the school website and an update is scheduled for the first PTA meeting of the school year on September 15, 2011. A copy of the letter can be viewed/printed/downloaded below:
