The dates of the 21 scheduled municipal government meetings were approved at the January 7th annual organization meeting. Notification of these meetings is in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) which requires that all municipal governing bodies publish a listing of their regular meetings with dates, times, locations, and agenda to the extent known.
Roselle Park Mayor & Council meetings are usually held on the first and third Thursdays of every month. During July and August, meetings are held once monthly.
Even though there has almost always been a third meeting on the last Thursday of the year to complete legally financial and administrative matters, it was not included in the annual listing. Other local governing bodies, such as the school board, include such meeting with a note that they would be held if needed.
All municipal meetings are held at the Roselle Park Municipal Complex located at 110 East Westfield Avenue and are scheduled to start a 7 p.m. in council chambers. Each meeting has two (2) public comment portions – one at the start of the meeting and one at the end. The first public portion has a seven-minute time limit and is for agenda items only. The second opportunity for residents to comment on the record can be on any matter with a five-minute time limit.
