Man Arrested For Possession Within 1,000 Feet Of A School

On Thursday, August 12, 2010 at approximately 3:36 p.m. Patrolman Nicholas Vaughan conducted a motor vehicle stop on a gold Nissan 4-door Maxima. According to the patrol officer’s mobile computer the vehicle’s registration was suspended. During the stop, the driver, Leonard Thorne was found to be in possession of a backpack that contained approximately 2.4 ounces of marijuana and over $2,300.00 in cash.

Thorne was arrested and charged with possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession within 1,000 feet of a school.

He was transported to union county jail in lieu of $75,000.00 no 10%.
