Man Arrested For Burglary To Norte Auto Body

On Tuesday March 13th, Roselle Park Police Department detectives arrested Juan G. Torres on charges related to the burglary of Norte Auto Body that was reported last Friday.

Torres, a 27-year-old resident of Elizabeth, was arrested at the Essex County Jail in Newark where he was being held on unrelated charges. He was charged with burglary, theft, and receiving stolen property. Torres is being held on $30,000 bail.

Torres is alleged to have forced entry into the garage area of Norte Auto Body on East Westfield Avenue early Friday morning, March 9th. Once inside, police reported that Torres ransacked the office area and broke into several customers’ vehicles. He is alleged to have stolen computers, iPod type devices, sneakers, and car radios.

Detectives were able to locate video footage of Torres’ vehicle fleeing the scene of the burglary. With the assistance of the Bloomfield and Elizabeth Police Departments, Roselle Park Detectives were able to locate the suspect vehicle, in which they located some of the items stolen during the Norte burglary.

Police are still searching for other property taken during the burglary. The investigation into Torres and other possible suspects is continuing.
