At last night’s Board Of Education (BOE) meeting, the formal announcement was made regarding days that – so far – will become school days in order to make up for the five (5) snow days that were called since the beginning of this year. Three extra days were built in to the school calendar to have available in case schools were closed for inclement weather. Those days were used up the start of February. Since then, two additional snow days have been called (February 5th and 13th), necessitating the removal of ‘schools closed’ days. The days that will have schools be open for classes are:
- Monday, April 14, 2014
- Monday, April 21, 2014
It should be noted that if additional snow days or inclement weather days are used, the following days would become school days:
- April 15, 2014
- April 16, 2014
- April 17, 2014
During discussions, it was noted by the BOE that the custodial department has Monday, April 21st, as a contractual day off. BOE members Loren Harms and Troy Gerten reminded that Board that arrangements would need to be made with the custodial staff to have them compensated – either through comp time or other manner – for that day.
