Maintenance Of Lamps Violation Leads To Arrest Of 2 Roselle Men

On August 11, 2011 at approximately 8:39 p.m., Patrolman Richard Gaylord observed a green Ford Explorer traveling eastbound on East Westfield Avenue in violation of New Jersey Motor Vehicle Statute 39:3-66 (maintenance of lamps). A motor vehicle stop resulted in the discovery of a clear plastic Ziploc sandwich bag containing one (1) large plastic wrap and one (1) small plastic wrap containing suspected marijuana and an unsealed 50 ml. glass bottle of Ciroc vodka.

The driver, Peter Cruz, age 39 of Roselle, was charged with for 39:3-66 (maintenance of lamps) and 39:4-51(b) (open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle).

The passenger, Frankie Cruz Jr., age 27 of Roselle, was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana) and released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court hearing on August 25, 2011.
