MacBook Pro Reported Stolen From Apartment On Westfield Ave

On August 24, 2011 at about 3:08 p.m., a resident of the 300 block of East Westfield Avenue reported a burglary to an apartment.

The victim stated that he returned home to his apartment at about 2:20 p.m. and while unlocking his front door he discovered that the lock was already unlocked. Upon entering the apartment he noticed a pair of scissors on his bed which were out of place and several drawers that were opened. After noticing the opened drawers, he responded to the landlord of the building who stated that no one went into his apartment.

Upon inspection of the apartment it was discovered that the window located on the westside of the building was forced open. The victim stated that he left his apartment at about 7:40 a.m.

Detective Hussam Assad is investigating this case.

The victim determined that an Apple MacBook Pro laptop was stolen from the apartment The computer was entered into NCIC as stolen using its serial number. A canvas of the apartment building revealed no additional burglaries or evidence. A canvas of the neighborhood revealed negative results for witnesses.
