On February 21, 2011 at about 9:44 a.m. Patrolman Kevin Florczak observed a white Chevy traveling eastbound on West Westfield Avenue passing Jerome Street with dark tinted windows in violation of 39:3-75. A motor vehicle stop in front of 320 West Westfield Aveue led to the arrest of the driver, Jason Timmons, for 2C:29-3(b)(4) (hindering apprehension). Timmons provided a false name to Patrolman Florczak, identifying himself as Melvin Thomas. His true identity was revealed when a family member was contacted upon his request and provided his real name.
Timmons was then charged with 2C:29-3(b)(4) and issued traffic summonses for 39:3-75, (tinted windows) 39:3-10B (unlicensed driver) and 39:3-76.2A( failure to wear seatbelt). He was then released after posting bail of $800 and released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of March 3, 2011.
