Roselle Park artist Leona Seufert will be exhibiting her digital montages in “Soulscapes – A 10 Year Retrospective” at the Art & Soul Galleries in Roselle Park through March 13th. A reception to meet the artist will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 2 p.m. till 4 in the afternoon.
The 12-piece exhibit highlights the past decade that Ms. Seufert has been creating her digital art. Included are pieces from her series ‘After the Dust Has Settled’, ‘Discovering NJ’, ‘Photoshopped’, ‘Reflections’, and ‘NJ 9/11 Memorials’.
Ms. Seufert said regarding her body of digital work, “Over the last 10 years, the digital world has changed the way I look at my real, everyday world. By being able to take numerous photographs, on the spur of the moment, than modify them to tell the tale of my innermost thoughts and emotions, a part of my artistic being has been liberated in a way no other medium can achieve. The resulting montages that I create from those photographs come from the inner recesses of my soul. I strive to produce not just visual impact but a positive connection of delight with the viewer.”
Artwork from Leona has been exhibited in galleries and museums in the New York City metropolitan area, Upstate New York, and throughout New Jersey including a recent solo exhibit at the Pearl Street Gallery in Elizabeth.
Leona graduated from New York City’s High School of Art & Design and holds a Bachelor of Art in Theatre Arts from the State University College of Arts and Science, Potsdam.
