Knights To Sponsor Youth Free Throw Competition

The Knights of Columbus (Council 3240) invite all boys and girls ages 10 to 14 to participate in the 2013 Free Throw Championship on Friday, January 18, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. at the Anthony Signorello Youth Center, located at 234 Chestnut Street. There will be free pizza and soft drinks for all participants at the conclusion of the competition.

Registration for the event will begin at 6 p.m. that evening.

This is the seventh year running that the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is presented locally in Roselle Park. Winners at the local level will move on to district competition, with a chance to then move on to the state finals. Last year, more than 223,000 boys and girls took part in this annual contest in over 3,200 local competitions. All contestants in this local level competition are recognized for their participation in the event with certificates. The boy and girl winner in each of the individual age groups will be awarded Winner’s Certificates and a new basketball.
